“There’s absolutely going to be short-term pain,” Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.) said on CNN. “The president’s been clear about that. Everyone has.”

Kosta rolled footage of Trump allies saying he’s been honest about the impact of tariffs on prices and everybody knew that when they voted for him.

“Trump was very honest during the campaign that tariffs would drive prices higher, right? Right?” Kosta mockingly agreed. “Right?”

Naturally, that led to a video of Trump insisting during the campaign that tariffs wouldn’t raise prices.

“In his defense, he was lying,” Kosta said.
