By almost anyone’s reckoning, Tom Cruise’s answer to a question about Father’s Day recently was a dodge. And an uncomfortable one at that. (Watch the video below.)

The action movie icon was reminded by E! News that Father’s Day “is just around the corner” during the red carpet for a New York screening of “Mission: Impossible ― The Final Reckoning” on Monday.

“What would an ideal Father’s Day look like for you?” the interviewer inquired.

The query appeared to disarm Cruise, who briefly looked to the side.

“Hey, just having fun, man. Making movies, big adventure, having a great time,” he answered.

Cruise has three children. He adopted Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman and welcomed Suri, now 19 and attending Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.
